Course Description

Taught by WMI’s founder Ashley Denton, this course details the planning and implementation process for outdoor adventure ministries. It covers the application process for participants, insurance needs, specific planning items for camping, first-aid issues, and a variety of outdoor events. It covers appropriate ‘theological/spiritual’ curriculum planning for specific types of outdoor events, with specific objectives in mind, and how to evaluate the results and effectiveness of these ministries. The course covers what to expect in the wilderness, how to prepare for the ‘unexpected’, and, the actual implementation of an outdoor ministry event.

Registration

This course is run through Yellowstone Theological Institute in Bozeman, Montana. All registrants must sign up for the course through their registration process.

Requirements

Students must be physically able to endure varying kinds of weather, terrain and exposure. Students unable to engage in extended outdoor activities will be provided with alternate opportunities to fulfill the course requirements.
